The multi-talented billionaire BTS member from South Korea has a wide range of skills. He is an accomplished singer, rapper and songwriter. He’s also a director, record-producer, art lover, and a talented director. Jeon Jungkook, whether he is making history with his performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup or being included on Rolling Stone’s list of 200 greatest singers of all time, has cemented his place in the global music business.
Jungkook has been a key member of BTS ever since his debut, generating buzz with his 22 songwriting credits from the Korean Music Copyright Association. He was also the fastest Kpop soloist to reach one billion Spotify streams with only three songs outside of his group act – “Stay Alive”, Left and Right” and Dreamers.
He made history in 2022 by becoming the first Korean man to chart on Billboard Hot 100, with “Stay Alive”, a song produced by his bandmate Suga for the septet’s webtoon, 7Fates Chakho.

Jeon Jungkook was called Busan Prince
Jungkook was born in Busan on September 1, 1997. He is the youngest band member, earning the nickname Golden Maknae. He is the official centre as well as the main vocalist.
Jungkook is often referred to by his fans as Busan Prince. He moved to Seoul in 2010 to be a trainee at the School of Performing Arts Seoul. He attended the School of Performing Arts Seoul with GFriend’s SinB and Umji.
Jungkook took part in Mnet’s SuperStar K Season 3 audition programme but did not make it to the finals. His rendition of 2AM’s “This Song”, however, managed to attract the attention of many major labels in Korea including Big Hit Entertainment.
The BTS singer revealed that “seven different agencies” called him after his audition.
Jungkook joined BTS due to RM
Although JYP Entertainment wanted to sign Jungkook and other entertainment companies like FNC Entertainment, TS Entertainment, and others, he chose Big Hit Entertainment. Why? He was expressing his love and admiration to the BTS leader Kim Namjoon aka RM who, at the time, performed as an underground rapper under the name Runch Randa.
In numerous interviews, Jungkook revealed that he did not know many musicians when he lived in Busan. He was enamored with RM’s rapping and wanted to learn more about his company.
When he took part in Superstar K he met Bang Si-hyuk, the owner of Big Hit. He also learned that RM had been a trainee at Big Hit. Jungkook, then 15, decided to work with his idol and joined the Seoul-based record label.
His stage name
In numerous interviews, the K-pop star revealed that his stage name almost sounded like ‘Seagull.’ This was a reference to Busan’s official bird. He chose to use his real first name, Jeon Jeongguk, but changed the spelling later to ‘Jungkook.’
Jungkook can play multiple instruments
BTS’s heartthrob is always learning new instruments. He has a good command of the guitar and drums, and he often displays his talent on BTS reality shows and concerts. Jungkook plays the guitar to entertain BTS Army, the band’s most loyal fans.
Jungkook’s beatboxing skills
Jungkook’s beatboxing skills have been evident since his debut. He combines vocal sounds and beatbox elements to create unique rhythms. He will sometimes perform beatbox in the middle of singing.

BTS’s member is a taekwondo black belt. The BTS member began training in Korean martial arts at the age 12.
