I’m the man who loved you first: Shahid Afridi pens heartfelt note at eldest daughter Aqsa’s wedding

Shahid Afridi, the former cricketer may be tough but he has a tender side – particularly when it comes to issues involving his daughters. Shahid Afridi, the legendary batsman, shared photos from his daughter’s wedding and wrote her a heartfelt letter as she embarked on a new journey.

 

Shahid posted a series on Instagram of photos embracing his daughter Aqsa Afridi to celebrate her wedding. “Meri beti, it feels like only yesterday that I held you in my arms. I made a promise to myself on that day not to leave your side. “Even though you are about to embark on a new chapter of your life, I will always love you because I was the one who first loved you,” he wrote.

 

He then continued to pray for the union of her daughter and son in law. He concluded by praying for the union of her daughter and son-in-law.

 

Shahid looked dapper in the pictures, wearing a black shalwar-kurta and matching waistcoat. Aqsa was not visible in any of the pictures. She wore an embroidered dress with gold and red accents and heavy jewelry.

 

Local news outlets report that the Rukhsati of Aqsa’s wedding took place in Karachi, with family, friends and Pakistani national team members attending. In December of last year, the firstborn child of the former skipper married Naseer Nasir at a private ceremony in Karachi. Rukhsati is a ceremony that takes place mainly with Nikah. However, Shahid’s parents decided to postpone the marriage until July.

 

At the event, Babar Azam was also in attendance, as were Rizwan (wicketkeeper), Imam ul Haq (former skipper), Shan Masood (Hassan Ali), Aamir Afridi, and Shaheen Shah Afridi.

The event was not only attended by the cricket fraternity but also politicians such as Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel and TV host Waseem Badami. Cricket legends Moin, Arshad, Mohammad Akram, Waqar Younis, among others, were also present.
